Our History

We are a community Church with contemporary style worship, relevant biblical teaching and programs for all age groups. The title “Reformed” comes from the Reformation, a 16th century movement in the Church and society. It began with Martin Luther in Germany and continued under the Frenchman John Calvin.  The movement taught that we are saved from sin, death and hell, and enter into a living relationship with God the Father, only by his grace, through the finished work of Jesus on the Cross and we received it by Faith as it is taught in the Bible.

The Christian Reformed Churches were established in Australia in the early 1950s by Dutch migrants. The Mt Evelyn Christian Reformed Church was established in 1953.  We are one of many Reformed Churches in Australia which have about 9,000 members.
